A500 Music ......Bringing great live music to The Potteries

A500 Music – Covid 19 statement – 23/07/2021

Hello fellow live music fans

Like everyone else, we have been trying to make sense of the lifting of Covid restrictions and looking at how we can make our music events as safe as possible, whilst still enjoying ourselves and supporting our musicians, who have obviously had a hard time this last year and a half.

On July 19th we moved to step 4 of the government’s roadmap to easing of Covid restrictions, where we were told that masks would no longer be mandatory, social distancing would no longer be necessary and that there would be no limits on numbers at indoor events.

However, with the infection rates still increasing, we have been trying to make our own risk assessment and applying our own judgement of how best to handle our first show in over 18 months and these are the precautions we will be putting in place.

  1. By opening windows, propping doors and with mechanical extraction fully on, we hope to maximise ventilation in the hall
  2. There will be sanitisation stations at the entrance and at the serving hatch which we will encourage you to use
  3. We will still be providing free hot drinks but may take a little longer to serve you, as we will now have to sugar your drinks at the hatch to minimise the risk of cross infection from having communal spoons at the second hatch
  4. Our apologies but we won’t be able to provide drinking glasses this time and while we hope to have some disposable plastic drinking cups, we would ask you to bring your own glasses
  5. In the last week, we have decided that we will still ask those of you who can, to wear masks on entry to the venue and whilst moving around but you can remove these when seated at your tables...much like you have been doing in pubs and restaurants for some time
  6. The artists and all A500 volunteers WILL be taking one of the free lateral flow tests that are available at any pharmacy
  7. Whilst not compulsory, we would encourage all of our audience to do the same to protect themselves and others...if anyone tests positive or is displaying Covid symptoms, we will issue them with a full refund of their ticket price
  8. We are not obliged to maintain a track and trace register but we do have contact details of the people who have booked and paid for groups of tickets and hope they will keep in contact with us if anyone becomes unwell following the shows
  9. While we want everyone to have a good time and for our wonderful artists to enjoy a well-earned payday, we as individuals have to do our best to look after ourselves and our friends by continuing to be vigilant and staying safe.
